Flygbussarna: from the airport to the city centre of Stockholm

Flygbussarna are an easy way to get from the airport to the city centre.

Whether you arrive at Arlanda, the easiest and an affordable way to get from the airport into central Stockholm is by airport buses or Flygbussarna.

Download the Flygbussarna app and buy your tickets in advance. This is the cheapest option. You can then simply board the bus and show the app to the driver or scan it yourself at the machine in the bus. Both at the airport and in the station you will also find a payment terminal where the instructions are in both Swedish and English, just like in the app.

Payment is only possible by card, as in many places in Sweden. Purchase your tickets at the vending machine as it is not possible to buy tickets at the driver anyway.

The buses run at regular intervals and on board you can follow information about the next stop and the estimated time of arrival on the screens. The driver will also keep you informed. It is compulsory to wear a seat belt on the bus. There is WiFi on board, but personally I just put it on 4G because this is just a bit smoother. I think Flygbussarna is an ideal way to travel from the airport to central Stockholm.

From Arlanda to central Stockholm

In Arlanda you have to pay attention to what bus you should take. Usually there is a steward at the bus stop who will be happy to help you.

From Stockholm Centralen to the airport

You can also easily travel to Stockholm Arlanda airport with Flygbussarna. You will find the bus terminal in the central station, Cityterminalen. You are supposed to wait inside. The doors will not open until the bus arrives. It is a double door and the second door will not open until the first door has closed behind you.

If you go to the bus terminal via Kungsgatan, you can see where you need to be in the photo below. But you have to go through Cityterminalen.
